Why have your ducts cleaned regularly?
Duct cleaning is not just a matter of maintenance: it is an investment in your health, your safety, and the performance of your appliances. Here is what you gain:
- Healthier air: reduction of allergens, dust, and contaminants
- Lower risk of mold and bacteria
- Lower risk of fire (especially for dryer ducts)
- Energy savings: your systems work better, for longer
- Fewer unpleasant odors in the house

Ventilation ducts
Whether for heating or air conditioning ducts, cleaning improves the performance of the appliance and reduces the risk of breakdown. Well-maintained ducts reduce the presence of allergens and bacteria and provide you with better air quality.

Air exchanger ducts
As your air exchanger ensures the distribution of healthy air and maintains a certain percentage of humidity, it is very important to maintain it properly. This way, you ensure that you reduce the allergens distributed throughout the house while improving the performance of your appliance.

Wall-mounted air conditioner
A wall-mounted air conditioner offers you comfort and coolness on hot days, but for it to work efficiently, regular maintenance is essential. By cleaning and maintaining your unit, you prevent the accumulation of dust and mold, reduce allergens circulating in the air, and optimize energy performance. You thus benefit from healthier air and a system that lasts longer.

Dryer duct
When your dryer's exhaust pipe is not maintained, the performance of your appliance is reduced, as the air does not properly discharge its moisture. The risks associated with the outbreak of fire are also increased. Cleaning this duct is therefore essential.

What are the benefits of cleaning the ventilation system ducts?
Why choose Royal Nettoyage?
How often should residential systems be cleaned?
The frequency of cleaning depends on several factors and the owner's preferences. Certain factors should be considered to determine the optimal frequency:
- Presence of a smoker indoors
- Pets that shed large amounts of hair
- Do residents suffer from allergies or asthma requiring better indoor air quality
- Following renovations or a disaster
- Before occupying a new house.
How do we clean ventilation ducts at Royal Nettoyage?
The most effective way to clean air and ventilation ducts is to place the system under negative pressure, through the use of specialized and powerful vacuum cleaners. While the system is under vacuum, specially designed brushes are inserted into the ducts to dislodge any debris that may be stuck to the interior surfaces to then be vacuumed up.
Do I need an antimicrobial treatment?
If we detect the presence of microbial contamination, such as fungi (mold), viruses, or bacteria, antimicrobial chemicals can be applied following the cleaning of the system. We only use products approved and certified by Environment Canada. This treatment is an additional service that is not part of a normal air duct cleaning and maintenance.
How can I determine if the cleaning was effective?
At Royal Nettoyage, we carry out a visual inspection in your presence during the submission before and after the cleaning of the system. Although you can carry out your own visual inspection using a flashlight and a mirror, our professionals use specialized inspection tools and we have a strict cleaning checklist which ensures superior quality work.
In which case is it better to replace instead of clean?
Royal Nettoyage uses specialized equipment for duct sanitation, but sometimes cleaning is not an option. For example, in the event of a flood or a fire, the insulating surfaces may be wet or soiled and may need to be replaced. It also sometimes happens that the sheath of the flexible ducts is too stretched, cracked, or damaged that cleaning becomes impossible. In this case, the only solution will be replacement.
What are the advantages of using a factory truck for cleaning ventilation ducts?
In some cases, it is preferable to use a factory truck while in others, the portable device is required. The factory truck is certainly more powerful, but long pipes are necessary to reach the furnace. The suction, depending on the distance separating them, affects performance. And very often the pipes cannot reach the furnace for lack of access. The portable device, equipped with HEPA filters, allows 5000 cfm to be connected directly to the main duct. This provides suction that meets the NADCA standard, the industry standard. Royal Nettoyage has all these solutions in order to be able to offer the best result every time.
